Community, Storytelling & Impact Measurement
We are proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Tank, centred around three critical dimensions: Community, Storytelling, and Impact Measurement.
This collaboration is designed to amplify the voices and aspirations of communities across Australia.
With our combined professional and lived expertise, we are able to provide a service which centres powerful storytelling, reflecting collective experiences and impact measures that enable true evaluation within initiatives, programs and institutions.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for Echo Impact Group and particularly for this niche service combining strategic change and systems impact measurement.
Impact and evaluation expertise and services can be practiced and developed in silos. In the Oceania context, we still have much to evolve within and between impact evaluation, community-led initiatives, business and public service sectors. We believe this partnership presents an opportunity to integrate strategic change and impact measurement methods which centre community listening and storytelling.
This collaboration with Tank not only presents an opportunity to collectively work together and problem solve, but to address harm, lack of transparency and/or accountability with impact (change) that is both tangible and intangible.
The Challenge
A community’s vision, aspirations and stories are often absent from the success that is defined within the organisations, institutions and programs that aim to support them.
The stories that are told of these successes often lack insight, meaning and the substance that links the community’s needs with the very metrics used to frame the story.
The process of integrating impact measurement within organisations, institutions and programs has traditionally been for the purpose of supporting activity-focused reporting for compliance and regulatory justifications or assessing harm within the active management of project(s). With impact, particularly social impact, truly connecting with and understanding how to continuously improve service(s) within is imperative and requires a different approach.
Our Approach
Our approach is designed to establish a clear foundation for strategic alignment that has the community’s voice and aspirations at the heart of impact measurement.
Involving your leadership and community stakeholders to co-create the evaluation methodology and participate in storytelling sessions that capture vision, aspirations, and strategic objectives, we ensure everyone is involved, aligned and risks are identified early.
Participatory workshops, on-the-ground engagement and the inclusion of critical voices, often unheard in evaluation of impact, will help us conduct a comprehensive gap analysis to understand how socio-cultural processes, community principles and commercial strategies interact and create a path towards impact.
